The Matrix

Once I watched this movie that aksed what if everything you have ever heard was a lie? I thought yeah what if? However I thought it's only in the movie not in real life. But who knows this reality might be all a lie. Not necessarily a lie, but a mass misconception. For instance there are rules set down that society dictates to you from birth. Like gender roles guys have to act one way you know macho like football, whatever. Girls another. Thats just one example how many things do we do just cause everyone else does it. We don't even sit down, and think why. Another example: Why do you eat at say 6:00 pm all the time? Your not always hungry then thats just what you do. Shouldn't you eat to live therefore eat when your hungry? When you think about things alot of stuff makes no sense, we just do it without question because everyone does. Thats the way it is and thats the way it has always been. Sometimes if we don't conform society shuns us. Not necessarily in the sense of like running your out the the county more like avoid you cause your different you threaten my view points and make me think. They labels us a freak. A rebel. But thats another misconception of society. Being a rebel isn't wrong, it just means I am prone to thinking for myself. Some people might feel endangered if you start changing all their comfortable rules. They work so why change them? I think it all comes down to that. People fear change, because its unknown. It may bring pain, but it might get better, however one may tend not to think about the pleasure only the pain. Its easy to say: now I feel ok so why change and have the POSSIBILITY of getting burned? People fear change, and what they fear they destory (or get rid of). Its sad. This is a ginormous barrier to growth. You have the power to shatter that barrier though. Don't do things blindy because your told to. Question. Question. Question. It is the only way to learn. My quote is " I'd rather be a freak then a sheep." Because where do the sheep go? Blissfully to the slaughter. In a manner of speaking. I think the only way to fullfill your true potential is to dare to be you. Do what you want, think for yourself, and most importantly QUESTION EVERYTHING!
